Issues concerning insuring a Ferrari : New Ferrari car

Issues concerning insuring a Ferrari
by Jonathon Blocker
A Ferrari is a beautiful luxury machine that can make a great addition to your investment portfolio. Considered by vehicle connoisseurs as art on wheels, ownership of a new or used Ferrari puts you in an elite group of car enthusiasts. Ferrari Prices are a large investment. With such a thing of beauty, you will want to take the necessary steps to protect your expenditure; heading the list will be to procure appropriate Ferrari insurance.
How you will use the car is one factor that will come into play when you are purchasing auto insurance. A car that is used as a show piece and is rarely driven will demand a different rate from one that is taken out and driven on the open road. Some insurers also have requirements for garaging vehicles when they are not in use. Another aspect to consider is the age and gender of the driver. Insurance is based on risk and indemnity, and if you are in what the insurance company decides is a high-risk group, this will cause your rate to increase. For example, an experienced male driver with a clean driving record wishing to insure a $100,000 Ferrari with full coverage might expect an insurance premium in the $5,000 range. An older female driver with a similar record, experience and vehicle would typically pay less for the same coverage, because in general women drivers carry less of a risk to the insurer than do male drivers. The amount of experience a driver has, plus his or her driving record, will also factor into the insurance premium an insurer will offer you. The rarity of the particular Ferrari that you own will also play a part in the insurance costs incurred.
You might want to think about insuring your vehicle with an insurance company that specializes in collectible cars. In this way you will be dealing with agents that are experienced with auto insurance issues specific to Ferraris and other classic road vehicles, and they can offer you the specialized service that you will need. If you are a collector of rare or classic cars, you can often get a discount by insuring more than one vehicle with the same insurance company, so this is something for which you will need to inquire.
Belonging to an auto club for Ferrari owners can also provide a way to lower your insurance costs. Auto clubs can often offer discounts to their members because they are able to buy insurance coverage in bulk, essentially, and this helps drive the prices down, for the members' advantage. Discounts on insurance are also sometimes given to auto club members because they tend to be safe drivers that take excellent care of their prized vehicles.

Ferrari Cars Overview

The Ferrari was founded in 1929 by Enzo Ferrari and first produced cars in 1947. Today, the parent company for Ferrari is Fiat. The Ferraris engines are famous for their engine displacement technology. The V6 and the V8 are built in total displacement, while the V12 used a displacement of one cylinder. Some of the latest Ferrari models include the Ferrari 550, the 575 M Maranello, 599 GTB Fiorano, the 612 Scaglietti,, the F355, the Ferrari 360, the F430, the Enzo Ferrari and the Ferrari FXX.
The 599 GTB Fiorano was started to be produced in 2007, and it is a Gran Turismo two seat berlinetta with a FR layout. The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is a follower of the Ferrari 456 and it is a 2+2 coupe Gran Turismo. It was first launched in 2004 and is still being manufactured. Another car also launched in 2004 is the Ferrari F430. It is a sports car and it is available as a two seat Berlinetta and as a two seat Spider. Porsche vs Ferrari : New Ferrari car

Porsche vs Ferrari
by Pj Germain
Porsche and Ferrari are German and Italian sides of the same coin, interpretations of the sports car idea. Both founded by a dominant patriarch, both honed in racing, both more than 50 years old, both with engineering and styling integrity. Whether on the track of Le Mains or on the streets, the two have always been put head-to-head and compared. Even the most naive motorist associates these two names with both performance and style.
We have decided to compare the methodical Porsche 911 Carrera 4S and the passionate Ferrari F430 because both of them astonish with their performance while attempting to maintain a reasonable amount of practicality but do not pretend to be anything other than sports cars.
A modern sports car should feature these characteristics: it should be started easily, maneuvered around town, blasted on a couple of country roads, it looks and performs the part on a racetrack but at the same time it is very safe.
The easier way to separate the two cars is by measuring figures since both of them have mastered the modern sports car requirements and basically there's no other way to choose between these two phenomenal cars.
What initially impresses is Ferrari's lightning fast 4-second 0-100km/h acceleration and thrilling exhaust tone. As the occupants are pinned to the seats, the new generation 4.3-litre V8 pushes out 368 snarling kilowatts. Porsche's acceleration also offers that kick in the pants a super car should deliver, although it is 0.8 seconds slower at the 100 km/k mark.
With such acceleration performance, it comes natural for both cars to excel in the braking department. The two cars offer optional ceramic discs for impressive stopping.
Porsche's engine gets the upper hand as it is more refined and on the economy rank leaps ahead Ferrari with a 11.8 liters per 100 km as opposed to 18.3 liters. Both cars deliver the power through impressive 6-speed gearboxes and offer top rate handling performance.
Both F430 and Carrera4S offer great interior comfort and even if the space is limited, the occupants do not feel claustrophobic and flustered. Although an impressive mix of suede, carbon fiber and aluminum abound in the Ferrari, the Italians stand no chance when it comes to the high finish level attained by the Germans.
Speed and silence are key elements for any super car. The look and appearance is the biggest draw card. The Carrera 4S is a typical Porsche, despite the new proportions. It is a great looking car, like any other 911 but somehow the styling no longer creates the jaw dropping reaction that the Ferrari does. Indeed, traditionalists may say that Porsche pays homage to its roots, but the truth is that Ferrari F430 simply draws the attention.
However, even if Ferrari F430 takes your breath away with its appearance, the super car title goes to the Porsche Carrera 4S with a more complete all round package.

Ferrari 430 Scuderia in Frankfurt International Motor Show : New Ferrari car

Ferrari 430 Scuderia in Frankfurt International Motor Show
by Evander Klum
A new Ferrari model, the Ferrari 430 Scuderia, is now on glorious display at the Frankfurt International Motor Show. The vehicle was actually a special series model conceptualized from the F430. It is an extremely high performance beast as a two-seater Berlinetta. The technology used was derived from Formula 1, making the model part of the F430 and F430 Spider in Ferrari's eight-cylinder model range. Michael Schumacher, who has been part of its development at different stages, officially unveiled this newest Ferrari model.
This year has been an impressive time for Ferrari, as they were able to attain an aggressive financial perspective. It has been justified with the 14% increase in their revenues by the first half of the year. And, it is also expected to rise up to 15% at the end of the year. Among the largest markets for the automaker have been North America, Germany, Italy, UK, France, Switzerland and Japan. The said results have proven Ferrari's exceptional high standard craftsmanship at Maranello -- a standard that of which gave rise in Ferrari's achievement for "Best Place to Work in Europe 2007".
Though Ferrari vehicles are in fact expensive, they are in demand. That is because those luxury products provide exclusivity to the individuals who could afford them. Ferrari has the evident potential to outwit most of the recent car models these days, and it certainly isn't just a typical car with Volvo fuel door hinge, with such strategy to gain the customers' loyalty.
With Ferrari's interest to give back to its customers, they opted to provide a wider range of services to their enthusiasts. Some of which were introduced at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. Included were: the Ferrari Classiche division which safeguards the future of historic and vintage Ferraris; the Corse Clienti (Client Racing) division which organizes track activities and our single-series championships; the Carrozzeria Scaglietti Personalization Programme, now supported by a sophisticated Car Configurator; Financial Services which offers clients a range of personalized financing options for everything from GTs to F1s, and a whole plethora of new advantages to the 430 Scuderia clients; the Ferrari Owners' Clubs plus the Ferrari Owners' Site with its own array of exclusive services.
As with the Carrozzeria Scaglietti Personalization Programme, four distinct areas are provided, including Racing and Track, Exteriors and Colours, Interiors and Materials, and Equipment and Travel.
Under the 430 Scuderia's hood, an evolution of the F430's 90° V8 engine is found. It has been modified to attain about 114 hp/L to 118 hp/L. There has been an optimization in the inlet ducts and exhaust system. It was adopted from the exhaust geometries derived from the F430 Challenge.
A new piston design gave way for the increase in the 430 Scuderia's compression ratio reaching up to 11:88:1.
The 430 Scuderia is equipped with the F1-SuperFast2, an evolution of the F1 gearbox. It reduces the gear-shifting time to 60 ms. And, it is the fastest time in the Prancing Horse range and the lowest overall in any automated-manual gearbox. It is integrated with E-Diff2 and F1-Trac system, which demonstrate the 430 Scuderia's links to the track. They offer 40% more acceleration compared to traditional traction and stability control system.
The great impression on the 430 Scuderia's braking system has been boasted by the featured CCM (carbon ceramic material) discs. Together with 6-pot calipers, it provides blistering performance and consistently efficient braking in prolonged track use.
Aside from aerodynamics, the 430 Scuderia comes with astonishing style and personalization. The weight has been reduced with the extensive use of carbon-fibre in several parts and bodywork components. This turns the Ferrari model as an absolute sporty car with luxury and prestige.

Lamborghini - A Ferrari Killer? : New Ferrari car

Lamborghini - A Ferrari Killer?
by Ivan Cuxeva Jr
Just like when talking about Ferrari, Lamborghini projects a clear image of power and wealth to those who own one of these super vehicles. This is an Italian company founded by Ferruccio Lamborghini in 1963, so it can be said that this car manufacturing company is fairly new, but it has kept an excellent quality and performance record which rivals that of Ferrari.
Unlike Ferrari's founder (Enzo Ferrari), Lamborghini's founded did not have a passion for racing cars like Enzo did, quite the contrary, Ferruccio Lamborghini had a tractor factory!. This tractor factory was indeed the financial base used to create the car company Lamborghini.
The origins of the company as told by Ferruccio Lamborghini's son is quite amazing. It turns out that Ferruccio went to meet Enzo Ferrari at his factory to complain about he quality of the clutch in the Ferrari 250 GT which he owned at the time (this is a sports car model of the 1950's). Enzo Ferrari then sent him away by telling him to go drive tractors because he didn't know how to drive cars. Lamborghini then had his Ferrari's clutch dismantled and realized that the clutch manufacturer was the same company which provided the clutches for his tractors!, Lamborghini then found a spare part in his warehouse which the thought might solve the problem and voila!, it did the job indeed. Ever since, Lamborghini became a dissatisfied Ferrari client and aimed to beat Ferrari in his own game.
Ferruccio then decided that his cars would have a V12 engine so he hired Giotto Bizzarrini who worked under Ferrari's engine development team in the past.
And as it turns out, Ferrari and Lamborghini are two automotive groups which are considered rival companies, and equivalents in quality as well as price.
Ever since its creation, Lamborghini has experienced continuous sales growth. It's cars are among the most powerful, expensive and exclusive in the world, they feature several exclusive characteristics such as high tech V10 - V12 engines, carbon fiber construction and custom styling by the most prestigious automotive designers such as: Franco Scaglione, Zagato, Marcello Gandini, etc.
Among the most recent popular models produced by this company we have: the V12 Lamborghini Diablo reaching a maximum speed of 330km/h; the V12 Lamborghini Murcielago; the V10 Gallardo; the V12 Murcielago LP640 and last but not the least the one of a kind Lamborghini Reventon debuted at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto show. This vehicle manufacturer is without a doubt one of the best in the world.

Ferrari will display the new F430 GT California at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show made to compete against the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. A feature is the folding roof in the 2+2 convertible coupe.
Although Ferrari is known for its timeless designs, the engines get equal press attention. The F430 GT will feature the same motor as the F430 and an updated chassis to accommodate the roof and rigidity when the roof is down. Pininfarina will design this Ferrari and features the most up to date release of the F430 aluminum spaceframe.
The F430 GT California will sport underneath the hood a 4.3 liter V8 direct injection engine with an output of 450 hp. It will feature the same F1 "Superfast" sequential-shift gearbox as in the F430 Scuderia. As an option, the manual gearbox will be offered upon request.
The F1 Superfast will reduce gear change times to just 60 milliseconds. Additional features include the same Scuderia traction control which will combine the E-Diff electronic differential and the F1-Trac traction and stability control into a integrated system. Experts see the F430 GT California to do the 0 to 60 mph jaunt in less than four seconds and have a top speed of 195 mph. All this for just around $200,000 USD.
The Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster is considered a pure sports car, a car that heightens the senses and provides a dynamically thrilling driving experience’ quoted by an Aston martin spokesman.
The Roadster features the proprietary Aston Martin bonded aluminum VH (Vertical Horizontal) architecture " the backbone to all modern Aston Martins. Combining to this structure, are materials such as lightweight alloys, magnesium and advanced composites used for the body, which contribute even more to the sports car’s low weight and high rigidity.
The Vantage Roadster performance compared to the F430 GT still delivers exceptional performance and engineering to ensure that the Roadster is on par with the accomplishments of its Coupe sibling, by doing 0-100km/h (62mph) in 5.0 seconds (0-60mph in 4.9 seconds) and a potential maximum speed of 280km/h (175mph).
The V8 Vantage is so sporty that it is being seen in many Hollywood movies recently and most famously used in the latest James Bond film. Aston Martin does bring performance, style and a true sports car driving experience. With either car, how could you go wrong? The Ferrari and Aston Martin both feature exceptional performance, engineering and a style that seems timeless. However, don't be surprised in the future when they inevitably raise the bar again.

Andrew Fox and Two Ferrari's

Andrew Fox and Two Ferrari's
by P. Evatt
Yes Andrew Fox is a 26 year old drop out from Ireland who is well known in the Internet Marketing Circles. He normally keeps a very low profile that is until now.
This year he has decided to come out into the open and give a selected few who wish to join his membership to a special click bank affiliate club.
He has refused lots of offers to speak at various seminars all over the world and also turned down the money that goes with it.
What he is doing is opening up this special limited cb affiliate membership to tutor people who would like to learn how he does it. It will be open from 18/09/2007.
In only a few short years he has a large house by the beach, holidays and travels all over the world when he wants and he also owns not one but two Ferrari's.
All this at the ripe old age of 26. Normally this is only possible in most people's dreams. Can you imagine what it must be like to be able to buy your own ocean front property anywhere that you would like?
Can you also imagine what it must feel like to not only be able to buy one car of your dreams like a Ferrari but two and being under 30 years old! How fantastic is that. All this from a 26 year old high school drop out.
I don't know about you but that would certainly make me feel as though I am in heaven.
What Andrew is going to do is teach people how to achieve what he has achieved by giving them exclusive insights to what he does and shows them step by step through full motion videos and PDFs.
What's his secret well basically he does affiliate marketing but not the same way as 99% of us do it and he's doing it really well with what he calls his "CB Affiliate Formula".
This is what he is going to teach people who wish to join this very unique membership. He is starting of with an introductory monthly price and it will be a very limited membership. If you wish to put your cb affiliating on to another level then you can take a look by visiting the link in the resource box.
There is of course the monthly fee which although an introductory $77.00 per month seems rather a lot to pay but then that is considered small change when you compare it with what you will be getting by being an exclusive member of this specially limited club.
What you will get for sure is information that you can use that is based on previous results and not something that is dreamed up out of someone's head with no concrete evidence or facts.
Facts and real evidence that Andrews system works will be displayed for all to see. So if you would like to be in the not too distant future where Andrew is then it would not harm you to go and test it out for yourself.
Remember Andrew has been doing on-line business for around eight years and with what he knows you should be well on your way to making good money if you follow what he teaches. However you have to remember that if you put nothing in you will get nothing out.
It also is sound advice to realize that not everyone will get the same or similar results to Andrew but that does not mean that what he earns cannot be exceeded. You do have to have the Drive, Focus and ambition to keep you on track and you really have to stay focused on what you need to do in order to carry out what you would learn with Andrew and his team.
Remember this will be an exclusive private members only limited membership club where you will not only learn from Andrew Fox but from other famous names that Andrew has managed to grab for you.

Ferrari - The Ultimate Driving Machine

Ferrari - The Ultimate Driving Machine
by Ivan Cuxeva Jr
When we hear someone talking about "Ferrari" the first thing that comes to mind is money. Ferrari S.p.A is an Italian sports car manufacturer, this company started by sponsoring drivers and race cars and in its origins it was never thought of or intended to manufacture their own line of high performance/quality vehicles.
This company doesn't count with the vast history other companies such as Ford count with but it nevertheless counts with an extremely high reputation, top quality standards and well known "super cars".
Today, Ferrari is a symbol of wealth among those who possess such outstanding driving machines. Price tags on these vehicles as we all know, are equivalent to full mortgages and in some cases even more. This company has been known by its active participation in Formula One racing where it has earned great status throughout the years of success.
Ferrari, as a company has been voted as one of the best companies to work for in Europe by the Financial Times, which is a British international business newspaper which comes in second to the Wall Street Journal. The founder of the company was Enzo Ferrari who died at the age of 90, in fact, one of the top models among Ferrari was named after himself "The Ferrari Enzo".
In Formula One, Ferrari is one of the oldest teams in the championship as well as one of the most successful, it holds several Formula one Records and fourteen World drivers championship titles. Among the most recognized drivers Ferrari had in their team we have: Felipe Massa (from Brazil), Michael Schumacher (Germany), Luigi Chinetti (Italy), Alain Prost (France), Eddie Irvine (Ireland), Rubens Barrichello (Brazil), Kimi Raikkonen (Finland), among many others.
Around mid 80's Ferrari classified cars according to their engine displacement such as: V6, V8 and V12; furthermore Ferraris were also classified according to their body style such as:
- "M" which stands for "modificata" meaning modified, an example of this type of car is the 575 Maranello. - "GBT" which are closed berlinettas or coupes. - "GTS" which are convertibles recently using the sufix "spider". Some examples of such vehicles are: F355 Spider (going from 0-100km in 4.7 seconds) and the Ferrari 360 Spider which can go from 0-62 mph in just 4.3 seconds using its 90 degree V8 F131 engine.
Examined from every angle, Ferrari as a brand, company and vehicle; is and will be a synonym of power, status and quality.

Ferrari Win British Grand Prix

Ferrari Win British Grand Prix
by Roger Munns
Formula One rookie Lewis Hamilton took third in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, while Finnish driver Kimi Raikkonen took first for the second time in a row since the previous week's fortuitous win at Magny-Cours in France. Up until then, hotshot Hamilton gave both teammates and competitors more than a run for their money ever since he shot out to the lead since the start of the 2007 F1 racing circuit.
While Hamilton has continued to inspire not only his teammates for the Mercedes-McLaren team, he lost a bit of momentum with Raikkonen's lead last week, and then again this past weekend. The Silverstone track, just over three miles in length, and one that offers sixty not particularly difficult laps, offered Raikkonen the chance to once again take the lead position as Hamilton fell behind during the first round of pit stops. Still, while Ferrari has gained some points with their last two wins, Hamilton still leads the pack with 12 points over his Mercedes-McLaren teammate, Fernando Alonso, who stands in second place.
The British Grand Prix, raced at Silverstone in Northhamptonshire, is one of the oldest traditions in the racing world, seconded only by the Spanish Grand Prix that began in the 1920's. Though the British Grand Prix was raced for years on the Donnington Park circuit, Silverstone has been wowing crowds since 1950. The track, renovated in 1991, is somewhat tamer than it used to be, and current contracts will offer the F1 racing world Grand Prix events through to 2009.
The last half dozen Grand Prix races have seen fierce competition between the leaders of 2007's Grand Prix drivers, including Hamilton and Alonso, driving for Mercedes, and Raikkonen and Massa, driving for Ferrari. The teams have battled for the lead since the Australian race at Melbourne and the Monaco Grand Prix, as well as more recent battles in the United States, France and now Hamilton's native Britain. Germany is next on the list and fans are waiting to see how long it will take Hamilton to regain his first or second place wins that they have grown accustomed to.
Raikkonen's most recent win now puts him one point ahead of his teammate, Felipe Massa, but he's still almost 20 points behind Hamilton for the lead. Raikkonen was quoted after the race as saying, "Once we knew we had enough fuel, I was able to close on Lewis and try to overtake him. But we knew he was coming in, so didn't take too much of a risk hopefully, the championship is not over. It's still going to be a long season."
Raikkonen may be right, with upcoming races still scheduled in Turkey, Italy, Belgium and China, to finish the 2007 Formula One circuit in Brazil in October. Plenty of time to continue to thrill crowds and fans carefully watching the awesome rise of Hamilton as he continues in his efforts to beat records and encourage both teammates and competitors to give their best in a truly inspiring F1 season to date.

Ferrari: The History of an Italian Legend

Ferrari: The History of an Italian Legend
by Janette Vince
Ferraris are one of the most recognizable symbols of wealth and status in the world. Their history starts with Enzo Ferrari, the company’s founder. He never wanted to build racecars - "he wanted to race himself.
Instead, Ferrari founded his company, Scudiera Ferrari, as a sponsorship company for racecar drivers. Originally independent, it soon became a division of Alfa Romeo.
During World War II, Alfa Romeo was taken over by Mussolini as part of the war effort. Ferrari left Alfa Romeo, but his company was forced to help the war effort by selling aircraft parts and machine tools.
Ferrari moved his factory to Meranello, where he started making racecars. The racing teams he sponsored became influential in racing from the end of World War II. He also began to make commercial sports cars to support his racing business.
Fiat bought a small share of the company in 1965. In 1969, they increased their share to 50%. Ferrari stayed on as managing director until the early 70’s. He died in 1988, at the age of 90.
Enzo Ferrari was known for his eccentricities, including his famous contempt for his commercial customers. He was upfront about the fact that he only built and sold commercial cars to fund the racing end of his business. Ferrari claimed to dislike his customers because they bought his cars for the status symbol, not for performance.
Fiat increased their stake in the company to 90% in 1988, after the founder’s death. Today, Fiat has an 85% share in the company. Enzo’s second son, Piero, owns 10% of the company and acts as Vice President.
Today, Enzo Ferrari’s cars live on as symbols of wealth and status, and his racecars continue to make an impact in the world’s most prestigious racing competitions.

Collectible Car Classic: The Ferrari Ferriana

Collectible Car Classic: The Ferrari Ferriana
by Arthur T. Fellon
Intrigued with the notion of a miniature bolide bearing his name, Enzi Ferrari proudly unveiled a diminutive engine late in 1959. The 854, which stood for shorthand the four cylinder 850cc engine. You know this type and line of car well. A replica of the Ferrari 250 line was used in the 1986 film "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" In the movie, the replica Ferrari 250 was the characters Cameron Frye's dad's car. Interestingly enough the automotive company that produced the replica 250 sports car , was later sued by Ferrari for the unlawful use of the Ferraro logos . Later forcing the replica company to shut down to avoid further legal action and potential financial judgments against itself So much for copying the rich and famous.
The most famous Ferrari 250 of them all was the 250 GTO. Often called the "First Supercar" this led to the radically restyled GTO/64 in 1864 of which only 39 cars were ever built. .
The diminutive 853 went resembled a section of the 250GT's SOHC V-12 engine right down to the characteristic black crinkle paint on its tiny valve cover.
After several false starts, a prototipo appeared at the prestigious 1961 Turin Automobile show. Called the Mille (for 1000), the petite fastback's lines were drawn by the then rising Bertone star Giorgetto Giugiaro. No Ferrari badges were evident, but cognoscenti knew Maranello was responsible for the twin Weber, 96 barrel horse power (bhp) one liter engine. The tubular chassis (a miniature Ferrari knockoff) was designed by Giotto Bizzarini himself.
Ferrari himself had no plans to finance the venture. Driving a proptype around enthusiastically, the "old man" sought other partners for that purpose. His well known legendary showmanship worked. Exactly one year later, the little car reappeared at Turin, now badged as a Ferrari ASA 1000GT, sponsored by a trio of well known racing drives - ingegnere Bizzarini and a corporate sponsor.
Yet again after several more false starts, production models finally bowed in 1964. Luckily for American motor vehicle enthusiasts and consumes most of these special little sports cars were destined for the U.S. sports automotive markets. The American Ferrari distributor of the time, Luigi Chinetti offered the little berlinetta at a price of $ 6200. Perhaps at this price point the sports car was unrealistically priced since a contemporary Chevrolet 427 Corvette sold in the region of $ 4500.
Despite an ambitious, Targa Flora racing effort and an overbored alloy Competizione version, called the Berlinetta 411, sales faltered. Prices were drastically reduced to clear the remaining "orphans". Perhaps fifty to seventy-five ASA 1000GTs, including a few fiberglass-bodied convertibles was built in total. Of this amount thirty two found American homes and registration. The whole venture folded ingnomiously by the year of 1967.
Driven around today in 2008, the midget has a distinctive raspy "bark". Due to the tubular , independent front suspension and full four wheel disc brakes handling of these now classic Ferrari sports cars has been always been much more than would be considered decent and acceptable for a car of its time and sports motor car vintage and pedigree.
In the end the demise this little jewel of a sports car, the Ferrari "Ferrariana", was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Detroit's 60's "Muscle Cars" were just too powerful with their massive V-8 engines as well as being less expensive for car buyers to purchase or finance.

Ferrari or Aston Martin__a Tie ?

Ferrari or Aston Martin__a Tie ?

F1 - Ferrari & BMW Take the Top 3 Spots in Bahrain

F1 - Ferrari & BMW Take the Top 3 Spots in Bahrain
by Claudia Beckford
This past weekend we witnessed the Ferrari team take once more the lead; as the Brazilian driver Felipe Massa won the third race of the Formula One calendar - the Bahrain Grand Prix. Massa is Ferrari's second driver but he counts with an extend background and plenty of experience which helped out to obtain the first points of the new season.
Another impressive performance was that of BMW-Sauber Polish leading driver Robert Kubica who began the race in pole position but eventually lost spots and finished third in the overall race. BMW boss Mario Theissen made a odd remark regarding their new hard-line approach as it is clearly reflected on the constructors' championship standings - currently in first place - basically the first time in the team's history as well as their three consecutive podium appearances in the last three competitions.
Despite Kubica's his third position arrival and fourth for team mate Heidfeld they gathered enough points to be placed in first position just one point from team Ferrari.
"It's true we are ahead of schedule - which concerns me a bit because if we go on like this we will get criticised for third or fourth place in future!" joked Theissen.
On the other hand, the alarms have been going off at the McLaren team due to the recent agony leading driver Lewis Hamilton has had to put up with. First there was his mistake at the start of the race followed by a distraction coalition into Renault 's vehicle driven by the Spaniard Fernando Alonso; as the two drivers speeded up out of turn three, Hamilton came close to Alonso's back axle and rode up on his right rear tyre losing its front wing. A very unfortunate fate for Mercedes which doomed Hamilton's chance and transformed it into the worst race finish; thirteenth position.
In the view of some; Alonso had deliberately lifted the accelerator but even Hamilton admitted that if there was anybody to blame was him not Alonso. Yet; Renault's director of engineering Pat Symonds holds data to show the Spaniard driver had not wrong doing in the matter.
After the eminent blow the 23-year-old Briton had not many choices but to continue and end his battle only that this time the gap between him and his Ferrari rivals Raikkonen and Massa was deeper as it meant many precious championship points.
Bahrain has been tough on McLaren and Hamilton who is used to error free performances; perhaps it is time to reassess the dynamics of the team as the championship is becoming a three way battle; in which BMW Sauber is showing sufficient pace to overcome McLaren and fight for more wins.
Nevertheless, we are still three weeks from the following F1 race in Spain and the Spanish racetracks have always been McLaren's territory and we know that from this point forward each race will be more difficult especially now that the lines have been crossed and the speed knights' motivations are in full gear.
